As the records fell and a new standard of greatness was born, we never doubted. Behind throughout the first half of their final regular season game against the NY Giants, Tom Brady and the Patriots proved once again who they are, what they stand for, and why their fans love them. In Tom We Trust.

Congratulations on a perfect season!

Kraemer and Brady

A silly clip getting too much attention, but I would be amiss if I didn't make note of it. This is of Andrea Kraemer interviewing Tom Brady and Randy Moss after they clobbered the Bills. YouTubers claim Andrea's googly eyes suggest she may have more on her mind than just sports talk.

Blowouts and Close Calls

(Tom reacts to an incomplete pass in the game against the Eagles.)

With a close win over the Eagles last Sunday (31-28), Patriot fans ponder if the world has found a weakness in the armor. The seemingly unbeatable Patriots looked quite beatable against a team they should have easily steamrolled.

Prior to the game, Tom Brady talked with WEEI sports radio and explained their strategy around "blowout" games:

"We're not trying to win 42-28, we're trying to kill people." said Brady. "We're trying to blow them out if we can. You want to build momentum for each week. You don't want to be up 42-7 or 35-7, and all of a sudden you look up and it's 35-21. We don't want to be part of that. You don't want to go into next week realizing that for the last 18 minutes of the game your team didn't play well or didn't play up to its capabilities. You gave other teams momentum for the next time they play you or you gave another team a reason not to be intimidated."

Calvin Klein?

(Tom during his appearance on Saturday Night Live.)

According to In Touch Weekly, Calvin Klein offered Tom Brady $1 million to be their next celebrity model. Reportedly, Tom is undecided. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Tom NOT going for the deal. $1 mil is too low, and based on past interviews, Tom seems to have difficulty seeing himself as a sex symbol.

Colts - Too Close for Comfort

(Tom and Peyton exchange a greeting at the end of the game.)

In the closest game of the season, against what is most likely their most formidable opponent of the regular season, Tom Brady and the Patriots managed another win yesterday, this time against the Colts 24-20. In a game full of bad referee calls and multiple errors on both sides, it all came down to who had the ball at the end of the 4th quarter.

Adding to his relatively short list of endorsements(at least compared to Peyton Manning), Tom Brady signed a 3 year contract with Glaceau, makes of Smartwater, valued between $3 to $5 million, to be their new spokes-athlete-celebrity.

According to Glaceau: "Tom’s trainer turned him onto Smartwater earlier this year and since then he’s made it part of his training regime."

Countdown to the Colts

Cast your votes online at msnbc for who you think will win the Patriots/Colts match-up next weekend.

Personally, I think Tom Brady and the Patriots are going to steamroll the Colts, but you probably guessed that. I'm sure Tom will offer Peyton a shoulder to cry on at the end of the game.

Washington Destroyed

Tom Brady and the Patriots get better and more lethal with every passing week. Today, the Patriots defeated the Redskins 52-7.

As best summarized by

"FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Tom Brady and the peerless Patriots keep getting better. Really. The quarterback was merely magnificent Sunday, throwing for three touchdowns and running for two more, and New England crushed the Washington Redskins 52-7 in an easy tuneup for its battle of unbeatens at Indianapolis."

Next weekend against the Colts will certainly be interesting.

Not Relaxing in Miami

Kissing pictures aside, things may not be so great in Miami.

According to the Boston Globe:

Notwithstanding their very public display of affection in Miami over the weekend, all may not be well with Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. Word is the star QB and his supermodel sweetheart are squabbling, and the source of the friction, at least in part, is Brady's relationship with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, the mother of his son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan. We're told Brady had a lengthy phone conversation with Bridget while in Miami, and Bundchen was upset to the point of tears. OK! confirms that the pretty pair are at odds over Brady's desire to spend more time with his pigskin progeny. The magazine reports that Bundchen recently pulled Brady out of a Starbucks here so that their argument would not create a spectacle. "Tom said that his priority was Gisele, but she was shaking her head," an eyewitness told OK! "She took his hand, and they walked out without even getting their coffee."

Link to article.

Fighting in a Starbucks?! That's heresy.

Similarly, the Boston Herald reports:

"Gi[sele] is miffed that she canceled her multimillion-dollar modeling contract with Victoria’s Secret to spend more time with Tom."

Relaxing in Miami

After an amazing performance against the Dolphins this past Sunday, Tom Brady and girlfriend Gisele relax poolside at the posh Miami Beach Setai Hotel.

Tom Defends Matt

On Sunday's game against the Dolphins, backup QB Matt Cassel entered the game with a 22 point lead and a little over 10 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. To everyone's dismay, he quickly tossed off a pass that was intercepted for a touchdown. He was immediately pulled out of the game and Tom Brady was sent back in. Ouch, that's gotta hurt.

But Tom, the consummate professional and team leader, came to Matt's defense after the game, telling the press:

"That was unfortunate because Matt works awfully hard," Brady said. "I think they disguised the pressure, and Jason Taylor being the defensive player of the year last year that he is, came over and made a great play."

Dolphins No Match for Tom

It's starting to get ridiculous, and seems almost cruel to make any team play against New England. Tom Brady and the Patriots continued their undefeated season on Sunday, crushing the Dolphins 49-28. And based on the very limited attendance at the game in Miami, no one is surprised.

Tom broke a team record and threw six touchdown passes, playing as if the Miami defense wasn't even on the field.

Gisele's Outburst

(Tom surrounded by media at his locker in Foxboro today.)

Again, rumors are circulating that Gisele had ANOTHER public outburst at Tom Brady over dinner. This time, the spat happened at Extra Virgin in New York. Apparently, there was some shouting between the couple and it ended with Gisele leaving the restaurant with Tom left behind at the table by himself.

The fight was reported on Link to Gawker posting.

I'm sure Dolphin fans are thrilled.

Huge Game in Texas

(Tom and ESPN's Kenny Mayne during an interview this week in Foxboro.)

In a big match-up this weekend between two undefeated teams, the New England Patriots defeated the Cowboys 48-27 on Sunday in a game that some see as a Superbowl preview.

Working hard with a lot of field time, Tom Brady threw a career high of 5 touchdown passes, and completed 31 of 46 for a total of 388 yards. And the Patriots prove, once again that, their offense is unstoppable.

Stetson Ad Campaign

Stetson released their ad campaign featuring new spokes model, Tom Brady.

According to the Boston Globe: Brady was picked to pitch the fragrance because of his "rugged sophistication" and "masculine spirit," according to Bernd Beetz, CEO of Coty Inc., which makes Stetson. "His allure extends off the football field and he is widely known for his distinctive masculinity and irresistible character," said Beetz. Link to full article.

NFL Record Tied Against Browns

Although it was actually his worst game so far this season, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots pulled together another win, this time against the Browns on Sunday in Foxboro, 34-17. And by completing three touch-down passes in each of the first five games, Tom tied Steve Young's NFL record set in 1998.

Bengals Defeated

(Tom and Carson Palmer exchanging a word at the end of last night's game.)

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots do it again, pulling out another win, this time against the Bengals, 34-14. Although still early in the season, the Patriots extend their undefeated record and continue to leverage their #1 rated defense and incredible passing game.

Vote Today - NFL Player of the Week

Many thanks to for bringing this to my attention:

Also nominated in Week 1, Brady completed 23 of 29 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns in the Patriots 38-7 victory over the Bills last weekend. Under Brady's leadership, the Pats controlled the clock for 34:19 in that game. He's already been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for that effort. Fans can vote for Brady at RIGHT NOW, but voting ends at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday of this week. The winner will be announced Thursday evening on"

Pimping Little Brady

Ugh, celebrities! In an obvious attempt to breath life into her floundering career as a d-list actress, Bridget Moynahan pimped first-time photos of Tom Brady's son John to the highest bidder. And the winner is... OK! magazine for $100,000. There should be laws against this.

Bills Defeated

(Brady and Losman talk after the game.)

As expected, Tom Brady and Patriots defeated the Bills today in Foxboro, 38-7. Tom completed 4 touchdowns; two to Moss, one to Watson, and one to Gaffney. For the Bills QB J.P. Losman, the game ended early due to a knee injury sustained during a sack, 65 seconds into the first quarter.

Style Icon?

(Tom and Gisele on the streets of NY)

Is Tom Brady a fashionista? Some seem to think so. Given his recent spread in VMAN magazine, multiple showings in GQ, and his attendance at Paris runways, Tom is turning heads in the fashion world and getting noticed.

Today, the Boston Globe published a lengthy article summarizing Tom's fashion accomplishments and style know-how:

"Brady is an eager participant in photo shoots, asserts a few opinions of his own, and arrives with a firm sense of self. 'He knows his light, he knows his angle. He has a certain amount of trust with the photographer,' says John Mather, the fashion director of Best Life who arranged September's spread, which features Brady in a new line of Tom Ford clothes."

Huge Victory Against Chargers

Tom Brady and the Patriots managed a huge victory over the San Diego Chargers last night in Foxboro, defeating the Chargers 38-14. The Brady-Moss combo, teamed with an amazing defense, renders the Patriots seemingly unstoppable in a season that is quickly living up to all the pre-season hype.

And with this win against San Diego, possibly the most formidable team in the season lineup, comes a slap in the face to all the "spy" mongers who thought gossip and politics would drag the Patriots down.

Great win guys! Maybe we should just skip to the playoffs.

GQ Cover

Tom Brady is once again on the cover of GQ Magazine. This time, he's one of 10 covers for GQ's 50th anniversary commemoration, which will be on the stands this Wednesday.

According to the Boston Globe:

"What helped Brady make the cut? Jim Moore, GQ's creative director, said it was the three Super Bowl rings, of course . . . plus Brady's charity work, his leadership on the field, and his self-mocking 2005 appearance on "Saturday Night Live." "We liked the fact that Tom Brady represents today," Moore said. "He's got a great spirit about him and he's an incredible leader. . . . We feel that his career is just getting going." Brady is also the only GQ cover boy who got new pictures taken for the occasion; for the other covers, GQ used iconic photos from each subject's era. Photographer Richard Burbridge, known for his stark and provocative portraits, shot Brady over the summer in New York."

Ready for San Diego

(Tom practicing in Foxboro today)

In a conference call with the west coast media, Tom Brady talked about his thoughts on the upcoming home-opener game against the Chargers:

“They've got a great team. I know they think they've improved from last year. There's 11 Pro Bowlers last year, one of the best running backs of all time, the best tight end in the league, a great offensive line, a Pro Bowl quarterback, two of the best outside linebackers in the game. They have a ball-hawking secondary, a great group of linebackers, the best nose tackle in the league. They're great at every position.

“We played these guys in a very meaningful game last year. We came out ahead and I'm sure they've had this highlighted on their schedule for a long time, and so have we. It should be a great contest. The team that is more prepared and the team that executes better is going to win the game.

“I tell you, it's a great defense. They're able to rush the passer, they're a pressure defense. It's a great team. Any time you play great teams, they're going to win their fair share of battles. I just hope we can go out there and play a little bit better than we played the last time that we played them.”

Link to article on

With two well matched teams, the game is sure to be nail-biter. I hope all the "spying" hoopla wasn't too much of a distraction for the Patriots during practice this week. Hopefully this is where their notorious professionalism will payoff.

Good luck Tom, we'll be rooting for you!

Another Condo for Sale

Want to be Tom Brady's neighbor? The Boston Globe is reporting that Tom is selling two condo units in the Beacon Street building he purchased for $6.2 million last year.

One unit has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and is selling for $4.59 million. The other unit, which has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths is selling for $3.99 million. Tom will be keeping the building's top two floors.

More VMAN photos

Hello Tom! I posted previously about Tom Brady's latest interview and photo-spread in VMAN magazine. More photos are now available on the VMAN site.

New SI Interview

As Tom Brady and Matt Cassel practiced in Foxboro today (pictured above), Sports Illustrated released a new interview with Tom, whose noteworthy quotes include:

"You want me to help guys be cool? Why me? I was the little sports nerd in high school who hardly ever had a girlfriend!"

About celebrity:

"I get so embarrassed having everybody looking at me," he says. "I just want to stop and go, 'What are you staring at?' I mean, I'm just walking out the door, you know? And people follow me! I have to disguise myself now. I never go out without a hoodie on. My head is always down! I never make eye contact anymore! It's like I'm not even myself!"

On turning down endorsements:

"You realize you're turning down a lot of dough, yeah, but it's just not me. I'm just not going to go out and do a Chunky Soup ad.... Like that [MasterCard] ad Peyton did about, 'Cut that meat! Cut that meat!' -- our D-line yelled that every time he came up to the line. 'Cut that meat!' Man, I'm so glad I didn't do that one."

Regarding his new son:

"I kind of cuddled him like a football," Brady says, adding that it's killing him that he can't be in Los Angeles for every sneeze. "I'd love to be out there all the time, year-round, but it's hard to make that a reality. I live here. But I'll start lobbying for off days throughout the year."

NY Crys "Foul"

Save me from people who can't stand Tom Brady's spotlight!

With yesterday's accusation that the Pats were secretly recording Jets' hand signals, people in NY are suggesting that Tom avoided a sack because he had illegal insider information.

Or maybe... he avoided being sacked because he's the best QB playing on the best team in the NFL. Hmmm - I wonder which is more likely?

Jets Get Clobbered

In the season opener against the Jets, Tom Brady and the Patriots performed amazingly and won 38-14 in a game that had few errors and where Tom was only hit once. In the post-game news conference, Tom stated:

"With plenty of time to throw, I had plenty of time to survey the field," said Brady. "When they're pressured, they always had the right guy … It was nice that we had the time to throw it."

"I think that offensive line did a spectacular job," he said. "They work so hard and I think they're so well coached. (Offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia) puts a lot of pressure on the offensive line and they're so consistent."

Tom & the Jets

Ok, so this an old Snickers campaign video with Tom Brady from awhile back, but how timely for today as we head into this weekend's season opener against the Jets:

Click here if the video doesn't load.

VMAN Cover

Tom Brady is looking fine on the cover of the latest issue of VMAN magazine, due to hit the newsstands on September 10. And inside, an interview with Tom regarding his personal life. Some quotes:

About his friends:

"I always say if I ever come back in another life I want to come back as one of my friends. They don't pay for [expletive]. Dinners. Trips. You name it," he says. "I watch 'Entourage' and, like that show, I got a name for all these guys."

On what he wants to do next:

"I used to say politics, but now it seems too ugly. I was always . . . someone wanting to stand up against things I didn't think were right," he says. "But I tell you politicians are scrutinized more than anyone. . . . I couldn't deal with that."

Supporting Dems or Repubs?

"I think everyone wants a change. I think it would be great if the Democratic Party could put together a unified campaign."

On his love of football:

“There’s nothing I love to do more than get on the field in front of 80,000 people. I can travel, I can go on a roller coaster, I can skydive—none of it can measure up to football.”

About wearing a Yankees cap:

"I guess you can't root for both teams, but what can I say? I like them both," Brady said. "Besides, my true affiliation is for the San Francisco Giants."

Taking It Easy at Practice

Tom Brady sat out most of practice yesterday in Foxborough (pictured above) officially due to his "chronic" shoulder injury dating back to 2002. Of course, Belichick has used the injury report to his strategic advantage in the past, and now with new NFL rules I previously posted about, this may be a case of coachmanship and not injury.

But in his defense, Tom said at the beginning of preseason that he would take it easy:

"One thing I'm doing a little bit different is that I'm really monitoring my throws in the preseason," he said. "Before I'd come out and I'd throw 100 balls a day. After a while, you throw 100 balls here at practice, that's 200 balls a day in two-a-days, and you go, `After four days, why is my arm sore?' Well, because you're throwing (so much)."

On Holiday

After spending some time in Boston prior to Thursday's game, Tom Brady and Gisele headed back to New York for the holiday weekend. This photo was taken of them on Saturday, 9/1.

Meanwhile, this weekend the press has been slamming Gisele for sending Tom's new baby a gift basket that included a onesie with the word "Supermodel" across it. The assumption is that Bridget was offended by the $1000 gift basket.

When it comes to the baby, Gisele can do no right with this issue... whatever she says or does will be taken the wrong way.

Baby Name Correction

As Tom Brady warms-up at practice on Tuesday, the rest of the world hears some news about his son's name. Bridget Moynahan, via her publicist, announced that the boy's name is "John Edward Thomas Moynahan", not "Jonathan Brady" as previously reported.

Well, that makes more sense. But the boy's initials "JET" irked more than a few Patriot fans.

The Name Fallout

Hot off the presses... a picture of Tom Brady at Monday's practice, as he and the world adjust to the reality of his new son. And even more shocking, his son's last name of "Brady" courtesy of Ms. Bridget Moynahan. Huh - did someone say "Brady"? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't give my baby the last name of the man who dumped me. Does that make Bridget a better baby-momma than me? Maybe. But I do "bitter" so well. It's practically my hallmark.

SNL Carnival Skit

This is an old skit recently posted on YouTube from Tom Brady's appearance on Saturday Night Live. Even if Tom can't act, it still makes me laugh. And of course, Rob Riggle is always good for a few chuckles.

Tom in Fine Form v Carolina

Tom Brady, proving once again the professional that he truly is, was able to put the stresses of his personal life behind last night, and deliver a 24-7 win against the Carolina Panthers.

As reported in the Boston Globe: "In two-plus quarters, Brady completed 17 of 22 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Brady led the Patriots to points on three of five possessions (six, if you count his first-half kneeldown) and one ended in a missed field goal. Brady was replaced by Matt Cassel with 6:07 remaining in the third quarter."

And as a side note, I'm hearing that the baby's name is Jonathan Brady.

Comments on Pre-Season

Personal dramas aside, Tom Brady took some time with the press to talk about what he needs to work on, what his team needs to work on, and his hopes for the upcoming season.

"I'm always excited about our potential, but the potential and the reality is something that's very different," said Brady. "I've heard over the last six months the expectations for this team and we can just throw the ball on whoever we want and run it and gain 450 yards a game. But it takes a lot. It takes a lot of guys coming together and finding a role and playing with toughness and effort.

"We've played two preseason games. We haven't played any regular-season games to really see where we're at. We've got two very valuable weeks coming up in order to get ready for our opener. The potential of the team, that's one thing, but really going out there to see what we can accomplish, starting in Week 1, is going to be what's most important."

Wedding Rumors - Again

More Baby Talk

Tom Brady breaks his silence after Friday's game and talks to the press. Once again, the dramas of his personal life and unborn baby are grabbing the spotlight:

"You realize when you come here you try to focus your attention and compartmentalize what you're doing so you can give this team what it needs because that's really what you sign up for when you come here," says Brady. He added "I'd hate to come in here and have my mind on 100 different things when that's not going to help this team at all. And then when I leave here I deal with that and my team takes ... a step backward."

A Changed Man

Are the stars aligning for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots for a killer season? Some in the press are theorizing that the combination of Tom's experience losing last season and his new wide receivers is creating "the perfect storm" for an unbeatable team.

"You've got to learn from the mistakes, but you can't dwell on them," Brady said of last season. "You have to use those as motivation, and I think you have a very motivated football team here. If we stay motivated and we continue to come out, work hard, listen to our coaches, be unselfish and do our own job it's going to be a successful year."
